Why do people automatically ume Santonio Holmes is the Jets # 1 receiver?

I mean what has he ever done except for one catch Braylon Edwards is far superior to Holmes for one Holmes is short he isn't even in 6 foot and 200 pounds. Braylon is bigger stronger and more physical receiver. Braylon's 2007 season alone trumps any thing Holmes has ever done. A year in which he went to the pro bowl and was 2nd in the league in receiving touchdowns only to Randy Moss who broke the all time single season record.
