Why dos the region next to the equator have a worm climate?

because since the Earth is a sphere,the equator (which just happens to be the line that is the middle portion) it is closer to the sun than the rest of the world and the Earth, although wobbly, stays like that while that rest of the world closer and farther to the sun while the equator just stays right there hit in a way by the sun's warmth that it always is warm.
