Why are some atheists so gullible in believing every negative news they hear about Christians as true?

atheists claim to be rational, reasonable, and logical people...but if you tell some atheist for example "a Christian threatened to kill me if i didn't donate money to their church" some atheists will accept that as truth without using logic, reason, or rationale...and then blame Christianity for it...
