Question about DR visit?

I got a postive & confirmed at a walk in clinic on the 6th I was pregnant. I`m about 6-9weeks we believe. I made a DR`s appt the next day, is it normal for them to make you wait for a while? My apt isn`t until the 22nd & it is with a midwife. Also what can I expect? & I`m thinking when I get paid tomorrow to go get PreNatal vitamins-what kind are good-easy to swallow-or the gummy/chewy kind? Thank you! (I guess it`s normal to be so dang nervous your first pregnancy?)
