I'm getting gum surgery next week should I pay for the anesthesia(300$)?or waste 300$ on cool stuff?

I'm getting gum surgery next week and I think the anesthesia is extremely overpriced I rather buy a punching bag or a game or something then pay for it sure I can take a bit of pain but will it hurt a whole lot should I take it or not?
